Rais of the Sea

Rais of the Sea — in the mine is a strategy game for children, played by two players who compete to find the treasure first and become the best Rais of the sea.

The game begins by setting up the board, which consists of:

• Border cards: these mark the edges of the mine. Numbered 1 to 22, they are laid out in a rectangle following the sequence.
• Ground cards: these include the treasure card the players are hunting for, plus surprise cards — bombs, energy potions, sleeping potions, empty chests and other surprises. Each card states what it does. Players shuffle the ground cards together with the treasure card and place them face down inside the mine.
• Entrance cards: each player has an entrance card and is free to choose where to place it among the ground cards, setting their point of entry into the mine.
• Play cards: the path cards (railway tracks) that players lay over the ground as they search for the treasure, starting from their entrance card.
• Power cards: the bomb card (destroys one of the opponent's tracks), the rebuild card (restores a destroyed track), and the spyglass card (lets you privately look at one ground card to see what lies beneath it).

Once the board is set up and the entrances chosen, all play cards are shuffled and placed beside the board, and each player draws 5 cards to start. On each turn a player may use one path card and one power card, or just one of the two, then draws a card from the deck.

Players trace their route in search of the treasure, using their wits to work out where it lies and win the title of best Rais of the sea.
